Dark Mode for Chrome does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.
None. Dark Mode for Chrome operates entirely locally in your browser. We do not collect any personal information, browsing history, page content, or usage data.
All settings and preferences (selected theme, brightness level, per-site enable/disable state) are stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API (chrome.storage.local). This data never leaves your browser.
Dark Mode for Chrome requests only the minimum permissions necessary to function:
document_start on pages where you have enabled dark mode. This script reads a synchronous sessionStorage flag and injects a dark background before the page paints, preventing the flash of white on navigation. No page content is ever read, collected, or transmitted — the script only writes a style element. No permission is used to collect or transmit data.
Dark Mode for Chrome does not use any third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising services. Pro subscriptions are processed by Stripe on a separate checkout page; Stripe's privacy policy applies only to that transaction.
If we ever change this policy, we will update the date above. Any significant changes will be communicated through the extension's update notes.
