Help and FAQ

Get from a clear source to text you can use.

Use this guide to choose the right input, improve difficult results, understand local privacy, and solve the most common problems.

1

Start with one small source

Choose one sharp, readable image or one focused region. Run it, compare the result with the source, and correct important details before processing a larger set.

2

Choose the easiest input

Upload a saved file, paste an image from the clipboard, right-click a picture, or capture a visible page region after a direct click. Use upload or paste when a page blocks capture.

Common questions

Answers before you need them

These answers describe the current local workflow and its clear limits.

How do I get my first result?

Pin the extension, open its popup, and choose upload, paste, right-click, or region capture. Start with a clear source. Wait for the progress indicator to finish, read the result beside the source, and copy or export only after checking names, numbers, dates, and symbols.

Why is the result inaccurate?

Small type, blur, shadows, tilted lines, patterned backgrounds, handwriting, and crowded layouts are difficult. Use the largest readable source, crop tightly, rotate an angled source, improve contrast, and process columns or cards separately. Compare the result with the source before relying on it.

Can I edit the recognized text?

Yes. The result is editable. Correct punctuation, names, numbers, line breaks, and uncertain characters before copying or exporting.

Does it preserve a table or the original design?

The result is editable text, not a visual copy. It may not preserve columns, font styles, colors, logos, check marks, or the exact position of stamps. Check row order and label-to-value relationships against the source when layout matters.

Why does region capture fail on some pages?

Browsers restrict extension scripts on internal pages and protected store pages. Save the source and upload it, or paste an image into the popup instead. A direct click on an ordinary page is required before a region can be captured.

What counts as one job?

Each completed image or PDF page recognition counts as one OCR job. A job is counted after recognition finishes, not while a source is still being prepared.

What are the Free and Pro limits?

Free includes 20 completed OCR jobs per day, local English OCR, single-image inputs, copy and TXT export, and 10 local history entries. Pro includes up to 500 jobs per day, batch images, PDF OCR up to 25 pages per file, 20 additional languages, CSV and Markdown export, and 200 local history entries.

Does local processing mean my source is uploaded?

No. Image pixels, PDF pixels, recognized text, file names, active page URLs, and page titles stay outside product measurement. The local recognition path processes the source in the browser. Optional language assets and license checks use the first-party service only when those features are selected, and they do not carry the source image or result text.

What measurement data is collected?

Anonymous activity events can include a random client ID, extension version, locale, event type, small counts, and success or failure outcome. This measures whether the workflow is useful without sending the source or recognized text.

How do billing and cancellation work?

Billing is handled by the checkout provider and is separate from recognition. Review the plan and its limits before subscribing. Monthly and yearly plans can be cancelled through the billing provider.

Troubleshooting

Fix the source before repeating the job.

A better source usually helps more than several retries of the same file.

  1. Try one smaller, sharper crop.
  2. Choose the language that matches the source.
  3. Remove browser controls, empty margins, and unrelated pictures.
  4. Process separate columns or product cards one at a time.
  5. Check the result against the original before sharing it.

Keep your normal safeguards

Do not place private documents or unredacted OCR text in a support message. Use a small, redacted example and describe the browser, operating system, file type, approximate size, language, and visible symptom.
