Log Viewer & Search Privacy Policy

Log Viewer & Search is a local-first Chrome extension for opening, searching, filtering, copying, tailing, and exporting log files. Log file contents are processed locally in Chrome and are not uploaded by the extension.
Data processed locally
When you open a .log, .txt, .json, or .jsonl file, the extension reads that file in your browser to display, search, filter, and export it. The file content stays on your device unless you choose to copy or export it yourself.
Data stored by the extension
- Display settings and viewer preferences
- Saved filters or highlight rules when you choose to save them
- License cache and a random device ID for license verification
- Anonymous activation flags used to avoid duplicate local prompts
Data sent to Peak Productivity
The extension may send anonymous extension usage events such as first_open, activation, paywall_hit, checkout_start, and plan_selected. These events include a random device ID, extension version, event name, and event timestamp. They do not include log contents, website content, browsing history, page text, or selected text.
License checks send the random device ID and license-related metadata to https://peakproductivity.online. Optional email opt-in forms collect the email address you voluntarily enter. Payments are handled by Stripe checkout, not by the extension.
Chrome permissions
The extension requests storage to save settings, saved filters, license cache, and anonymous activation flags. It also has host access to https://peakproductivity.online for license checks, checkout links, optional email opt-in pages, and anonymous extension usage events. The extension does not request all-sites access, tabs, history, downloads, scripting, webRequest, or activeTab.
Third parties
Stripe may process payment data if you buy Pro. SendSimple may process email addresses if you voluntarily subscribe to an email list. The extension does not sell user data.
