Short version: Your patterns and test text never leave your browser. We send only a random device ID to verify your license, and anonymous funnel counts so we can ship features. No tracking pixels, no third-party analytics, no telemetry of pattern or text content.
All regex evaluation, the AST explainer, the cheatsheet, and the catastrophic backtracking profiler run 100% locally inside your browser. They make zero network requests.
License verification. When the popup opens, it sends a random device ID (a string like dev_lq1234) to peakproductivity.online/regex-tester-pro/api/check-license to look up whether that device has a paid Pro license. We don't tie this to your real identity.
Funnel events. We count anonymous events like "first install", "first action", "paywall hit" so we know which features matter and which paywalls are too aggressive. The events carry only: the device ID, the event name, the extension version, and a millisecond timestamp. We never include patterns, text, or any user-typed content.
Stripe checkout. If you upgrade, Stripe collects your email and payment info to process the transaction. We receive your email back so we can send you the license key. We never see your card details.
Saved patterns, history, settings, the device ID, and your cached license status are stored in chrome.storage.local, which means they live on your machine, in your Chrome profile. Uninstalling the extension or running "Reset all settings" in the options page wipes everything.
The only third party that ever sees you is Stripe (during checkout, if you upgrade). They have their own privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy. We do not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Segment, Hotjar, or any tracking service.
To delete everything we have on your device: uninstall the extension, or open the options page and click "Reset all settings". To delete your Stripe customer record (email, payment history) email support@peakproductivity.online from the address you paid with, and we'll process the deletion within 7 days.
We'll update this page with a new "Last updated" date if anything material changes. We will not retroactively make the extension less private than it is today.
