Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Read Aloud Pro browser extension and related pages operated by Peak Productivity ("we", "us"). By installing or using the extension, you agree to them.

1. Acceptance of terms

By installing, accessing, or using Read Aloud Pro, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the extension.

2. Description of service

Read Aloud Pro is a text-to-speech extension that reads articles, PDFs, emails, and selected text aloud. A free tier uses your browser's built-in voices and runs on your device. An optional paid "Pro" tier adds Microsoft neural voices delivered through our voice proxy, removes the length cap, and adds MP3 download, a reading library, and selectable PDF reading.

3. Free vs Pro features

• Free: browser (Web Speech) voices, with a 5-minute cap per read.
• Pro: 30+ Microsoft neural voices, no length cap, MP3 download of any read, a saved reading library, and selectable PDF reading.

4. Subscription terms

Pro is offered as a subscription, currently $5.99 per month or $39 per year. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. You may cancel at any time, and your Pro access continues until the end of the period you have paid for. Pricing may change with reasonable notice; changes do not affect the period you have already paid for.

5. Payment and billing

Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize the recurring charge to your chosen payment method. We do not store your card details. You are responsible for any taxes that apply in your jurisdiction.

6. Refund policy

We offer a 30-day refund, no questions asked. If you are not satisfied within 30 days of a Pro purchase, email us and we will refund you.

7. Intellectual property

The extension, its code, branding, and content are owned by Peak Productivity and protected by applicable law. The neural voices are provided by Microsoft and remain the property of their respective owners. You receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the extension for its intended purpose.

8. User conduct

You agree to use Read Aloud Pro lawfully and only for its intended purpose. You agree not to: resell or redistribute the service; reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the voice proxy; use automated means to generate audio at scale; or use the service to process unlawful, infringing, or harmful content. We may rate-limit or suspend access that we reasonably believe abuses the service.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific voice will always be available.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

11. Termination

You may stop using the extension and uninstall it at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms. On termination, the license granted to you ends; sections that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) continue to apply.

12. Changes to terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Germany, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Wuppertal, Germany.
