Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 20, 2026

1. Overview

SEO Audit Pilot ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension developed by Peak Productivity ("we", "us", "our"). This privacy policy explains what data the Extension collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding your information.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. The Extension is designed to perform on-page SEO analysis with limited data collection and clear separation between local audits, product analytics, and Pro server features.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Data Stored Locally in Your Browser

The following data is stored in your browser's local storage using the Chrome Storage API:

  • Device identifier - a random string generated on first install, used for the free-tier daily audit quota, anonymous product analytics, and paid-license checks.
  • License key and license status - if you purchase a Pro or Agency plan, your license key, plan state, and verification timestamp may be stored locally for access checks.
  • User preferences - extension settings such as theme preference and notification preferences.
  • Daily audit counter - a count of audits performed today, used to enforce the 5-audit free-tier limit.

2.2 Anonymous Product Events

The Extension sends limited product events to peakproductivity.online so we can understand feature usage and improve the product. These events may include install, first audit, activation, paywall, Pro-feature attempt, checkout start, and plan selection. Events include a random device identifier, extension version, timestamp, and event metadata. They do not include page body content, cookies, passwords, or browsing history.

2.3 Data Sent to Our Servers for Pro/Agency Features

Basic free audits are computed locally in your browser. For Pro and Agency features, the following data may be transmitted:

  • Page URL - sent to our backend when you request Core Web Vitals measurements or when you run a bulk audit. For Core Web Vitals, the page URL is also sent to Google PageSpeed Insights through our backend proxy.
  • License key, device identifier, and license status - sent to verify that your Pro or Agency subscription is active.
  • Bulk audit results - stored only as needed to provide the bulk-audit feature and return results to your account.

2.4 Data We Do NOT Collect

  • Browsing history
  • Page body content, DOM data, cookies, passwords, or form values sent to our servers during basic free audits
  • Personal identification information (name, email) unless you provide it during purchase
  • Cookies from other websites
  • Authentication tokens from other services

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To verify Pro and Agency license keys and enforce subscription status.
  • To proxy Core Web Vitals requests to the Google PageSpeed Insights API.
  • To process bulk audit requests and return results.
  • To enforce the free-tier daily audit quota.
  • To measure anonymous product usage and improve onboarding, quotas, and paid-feature messaging.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

The Extension may interact with the following third-party services:

  • Google PageSpeed Insights API: used to fetch Core Web Vitals data (LCP, CLS, INP) for Pro users. Only the page URL is sent to Google via our backend proxy. Google's privacy policy applies: https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • Stripe: used to process payments for Pro and Agency subscriptions. We do not store your credit card information. Stripe's privacy policy applies: https://stripe.com/privacy
  • peakproductivity.online: used for license checks, anonymous product events, checkout routing, and support.

5. Data Storage and Security

Local data is stored using the Chrome Storage API, which is subject to Chrome's security model. Server-side data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on secure servers. We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access.

6. Data Retention

  • Local data: retained until you uninstall the Extension or clear browser data.
  • Server data: license keys, product events, page URLs submitted for Pro features, and bulk audit results are retained only as needed to provide the service, support users, prevent abuse, and maintain billing records.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the data stored locally by the Extension through Chrome's developer tools.
  • Delete all locally stored data by uninstalling the Extension or clearing browser data.
  • Request deletion of server-side data by contacting us at support@peakproductivity.online.
  • Cancel your subscription at any time.

8. Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
