This Privacy Policy explains how the Social Card Preview Chrome extension ("Social Card Preview", "we", "us") handles your information. Social Card Preview is built to be private by default. The core feature, previewing and validating the page you are on, runs entirely inside your browser and sends nothing to any server.
Short version: Reading the current page's meta tags happens locally on your device and is never transmitted. We do not track your browsing, we do not sell data, and we use no third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
1. What stays 100% local
When you open Social Card Preview on a tab, it uses Chrome's activeTab and scripting permissions to read that page's <head> meta tags (Open Graph tags, Twitter Card tags, title, description, canonical URL, and image references). This reading, the rendering of the five platform previews, and the tag validation all happen on your device. The contents of the page you are viewing are never sent to us or to any third party.
2. The only data that leaves your browser (Pro features)
Two optional Pro features make a network request, and only when you choose to use them:
- Preview a pasted URL. When you paste a URL and ask us to preview it, that single URL is sent to our backend at
peakproductivity.online. Our server fetches that public page and returns its parsed Open Graph and Twitter tags. This exists to avoid browser CORS limits. We send only the URL you typed. - AI-written card copy. When you request AI-generated title and description suggestions, the page title, description, and URL you are working with are sent to our backend, which passes them to our AI provider to generate the suggested copy. We do not use this content to train models and we do not retain it beyond fulfilling your request.
If you never use these Pro features, Social Card Preview makes no requests carrying your page data at all.
3. License verification
To check whether your device has an active Pro subscription, the extension contacts peakproductivity.online with your license token. This confirms entitlement only. It does not transmit the pages you preview.
4. What we store
The extension uses Chrome's storage to keep settings, your Pro license status, and (for Pro users) a local history of pages you have checked, on your own device. This data lives in your browser. We do not maintain a server-side profile of your activity.
5. What we never do
- We do not collect or transmit your browsing history.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties.
- We do not embed third-party advertising or analytics trackers in the extension.
- We do not request access to all your websites (no
<all_urls>permission).
6. Permissions, explained

7. Children
Social Card Preview is a tool for developers and marketers and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will revise the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
