By installing or using Highlightly (the "Extension"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not install or use the Extension. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and Peak Productivity ("we," "us," or "our"), the developer and operator of Highlightly.
Highlightly is a Chrome browser extension that lets you highlight text on web pages and PDFs, attach notes, organize highlights into a searchable library, and optionally summarize highlights with AI and export them. A free tier is available with no account required. A Pro subscription unlocks additional features including unlimited AI summaries, one-click export to Notion, Google Docs, and Markdown, PDF highlighting, encrypted cloud sync, and collections.
The free plan includes unlimited highlighting on any page, notes, tags, a searchable library, on-page navigation, copy and Markdown export, and three AI summaries to try the workflow. The free plan is provided at no cost and with no stated time limit. We will not move existing free highlighting features behind a paywall, and we will never lock highlights you have already saved. We may adjust the features included in the free plan with reasonable notice, but your saved highlights, notes, and library always remain accessible to you.
Billing. Pro subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly ($7 USD/month) or annual ($49 USD/year) basis through Stripe, our payment processor. All prices are in US dollars and exclude any applicable taxes, which may be added at checkout based on your location.
Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You will receive a receipt from Stripe before each renewal. To prevent renewal, cancel before the billing period ends.
Cancellation. You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time, in one click, through the Stripe customer portal, or by contacting support@peakproductivity.online. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and you retain Pro access until that date. After cancellation, your highlights, notes, and library remain available because the core highlighter is free forever.
Refunds. We offer a 7-day refund for first-time purchases if the Extension does not function as described on this site. Refund requests must be sent to support@peakproductivity.online within 7 days of the initial charge. Renewals and annual subscriptions in use for more than 7 days are not eligible for refunds unless required by applicable law.
Price changes. We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes take effect at your next renewal date after the notice period. If you do not agree with a price change, you may cancel before it takes effect.
You agree to use Highlightly only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not:
You retain all rights to the highlights, notes, and other content you create with Highlightly. We claim no ownership over your content. When you use the optional AI summary feature, you grant us a limited right to process the highlighted text you submit solely to generate and return your summary, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Highlightly, including its source code, design, and branding, is the property of Peak Productivity. Installation grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Extension for personal or internal business purposes. No other rights are granted.
The Extension is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Extension will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that highlights will always re-anchor on pages that change substantially after you highlight them. AI-generated summaries are provided for convenience and may contain errors. Do not rely solely on a summary for important decisions without checking the source.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Peak Productivity shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, or business interruption, arising out of or in connection with your use of Highlightly, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Extension shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the three months preceding the claim.
We may update Highlightly or these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted at https://peakproductivity.online/web-highlighter/terms/ with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be announced in the Extension's release notes. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
We may suspend or terminate your access to Pro features if you breach these Terms. If we terminate for reasons other than your breach, we will refund the unused portion of your current billing period. You may terminate by cancelling your subscription and uninstalling the Extension. We recommend exporting your highlights before uninstalling.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute should first be addressed by contacting support@peakproductivity.online. If a resolution is not reached within 30 days, disputes may be submitted to the competent courts of the canton where Peak Productivity is registered, except where applicable local consumer protection law provides otherwise.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
