Everything we get asked before install.

Is my recording uploaded anywhere?

Only if you click the Share button. The Free plan keeps every recording fully local on your machine. The Pro plan adds an optional hosted share link, which is opt-in per recording. There is no background upload, no auto-sync, no "we processed your video on our servers" surprise.

What permissions does it need and why?

Seven permissions, each tied to a visible feature. tabCapture for tab recording, activeTab + scripting for console and DOM capture (only fires when you press Record), downloads for the local export, storage for settings, offscreen for video encoding, and notifications so the recording state is impossible to miss. No <all_urls>.

How does sensitive data masking work?

Before each report is exported, the masking pass scans the captured DOM, console payloads, and network bodies for password fields, auth headers (Bearer, Cookie, X-API-Key, etc.), credit-card-shaped numbers, and email addresses. Each match is replaced with [MASKED] in the saved bundle. You can review and tweak the rules in the popup before you send.

What's the difference between Free and Pro?

Free is 5 reports per month with local export only. Pro removes the monthly limit, adds hosted share links so non-technical teammates can view a report in a browser, adds network request capture, adds one-click Jira / Linear ticket creation, and lets you save per-project masking profiles.

Can I cancel anytime? How do refunds work?

Yes. Pro is a subscription, no minimum term. Cancel from your billing portal and you keep Pro until the period ends. We also offer a full refund within 14 days of any charge, monthly or annual. Email support@peakproductivity.online.

Does it work on Chromebooks / Edge / Brave?

Yes. The extension is Manifest V3 and works in any Chromium browser that installs from the Chrome Web Store: Chrome (desktop and ChromeOS), Edge, Brave, Arc, Vivaldi, and Opera. Firefox is on the roadmap.

Can I use it for legal / compliance / regulated workflows?

The Free plan keeps everything on the local machine, which makes it usable in most regulated environments. If you need a hosted shared link, the data is stored on our infrastructure, see the privacy policy for retention details. For HIPAA, SOC2-bound, or other heavily regulated use, stick to local export and self-host the receiving page if needed.
